![]() Typing the command again will turn the HUD back on. Typing “togglegfxui” will turn off the HUD for more immersion. Left trigger on your controller will slow the camera movement speed down, while right trigger will speed the camera up. Use the left analog stick to move around and the right stick to look, just as you would in any first person game. Next just pick up your controller and get right into looking around.Ĭontrolling the camera is simple. We’ll detail more commands later in this blog, but if you want to get right into the debug camera, just enter “toggledebugcamera”. Here you can enter in any of the dev commands. Load up a game and hit the ~ or keys to open up the developer console. Keep in mind, this feature doesn’t allow you to actually play in first-person, you simply control a camera to look around a given area. Now that the first step is done, follow these steps to explore your game in a different way. Type in “-allowconsole” (without the quotation marks) and hit the “Okay” button. Right click on the game, and select “Properties.” Once in this menu, go to “Set Launch Options” in the “General” tab. (7) When done playing xcom2, don't forget to go back in there and re-enable the 'Xbox Configuration Support' if you want to use your xb360 controller with steam again for other games. To start, open up Steam and find XCOM 2. (6) Now launch xcom2, go to the 'Options', then go to 'Interface', and now you should be able to choose the xb360 controller instead of the mouse. NOTE: Unchecking that option now means steam doesn't know about your 360 controller anymore for other games! (5) Uncheck that option for 'Xbox Configuration Support'. (4) A new Steam window should pop-open for 'Controller Settings', where you can see your 360 controller is detected, and 'Xbox Configuration Support' option is currently checked ON. ![]() (3) Click on the button for 'General Controller Settings' (2) In the Settings window, from the left options choose 'Controller' (1) Choose from the Steam Window Menu: Steam->Settings. Steam is configured to know about the xb360 controller, but then inside xcom2 menu settings, I can't select the 360 controller instead of mouse, which means the in-game interface is still using mouse+keyboard ui instead of xb360 ui, and I'm stuck using steam-controller config instead of the xcom2 native controller support. If those don't work, you can try this slightly annoying work-around. If you have a similar issue, try the other solutions first. Hi! I just encountered this problem with my xb360 controller, and unfortunately could not get it fixed with the solutions offered here. This has been driving me nuts as it seems to be random if it wants to treat my 360 controller as a steam controller or not and I just want it to recognize it as a 360 gamepad in the interface menu like usual I cant see this option when I right click Xcom 2. This forces XCOM2 to treat your controller as a regular 360/Xbox One controller. To get the game working as it always did, right-click the game in your Steam games list, click on Edit Steam Controller Configuration, and change to the Controller template in the window that appears. ![]() The controller support on an Xbox pad is really bizarre if you have Steam configured to recongize it as a Steam controller. Haven't played in a while and I forgot how to correct this.Įdit: Confirmed. Problem is, the in-game Steam overlay is broken in XCOM2 even though it works in other stuff. I think that's because this game directly supports Steam controllers which can cause strange things if your Xbox controller is considered by Steam to be a Steam controller. The option to switch to controller input is grayed out for me. Originally posted by epmode:It's definitely weird.
